Playstation Plus Cloud Storage Increasing To 100Gb In February

For those with burgeoning hard-drives, the news is sure to come as somewhat of a relief. Growing install sizes for games such as Red Dead Redemption 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 have meant that less and less on-system space is available for saved game data and character profiles. 

While most saved game data is typically in the realm of only ~20MB, saves from multiple games can quickly add up. For compulsive savers or those with various character profiles, HDD and cloud storage space is an even greater commodity. 

In 2015, Sony increased PlayStation Plus storage from 1GB to 10GB. In the four years since that upgrade, PlayStation 4 users have relied on external drives such as the recently unveiled Seagate Game Drive to manage the myriad data types on their PS4s. Some have opted to replace the PlayStation 4’s factory hard-drive completely.  

Although the impending storage update is a repose from constant shuffling, it’s still a shame more data types can’t currently be saved to the PlayStation Plus cloud.
